What to play with a 10 month old baby at home?

At this age, the child’s opportunities to get acquainted with the world around him dramatically expand - he already crawls well and begins to walk. As he moves, he learns about the location of objects in space and “works out routes.” He has to solve difficult problems: assess the distances between objects and choose the optimal sequence of actions - where and how to move his hand, where to step. It is clear that this requires focus and attention. The child does this with remarkable persistence!

At the same age, he begins to apply different actions to different toys that are appropriate for them. This knowledge is acquired from an adult. The child imitates the actions that the adult shows him.

The child already understands quite well what the adult is telling him. True, he is based not only on what he heard, but also on the facial expressions and gestures of the adult.

The child is also good at communicating his desires or demands. He uses gestures, facial expressions, and sounds for this: after all, the number of words he uses is still very small - only two or three.

A characteristic feature of babbling at this age is that it becomes similar in intonation and rhythm to the speech of others. Combinations of different syllables are also used. Obviously, the child acquires these skills through imitation of adults.

Educational games for children. How to help your child grow up cheerful and happy

The baby experiences special pleasure from moving in space - crawling or walking. He likes the process itself, although the process is not without certain difficulties and troubles; the child may get tired, fall and hurt himself.

Therefore, the baby perceives with particular pleasure such educational games in which crawling, or walking, or some important elements of these actions are reproduced in a lighter and safer, but accelerated or intensified form.

  1. Place a towel or folded blanket under the belly of the child lying on the carpet. Lift him up so that he is in a crawling position and rock him back and forth a little. Hold him so that he can crawl easily, and from time to time lift him into the air and carry him forward a short distance.
  2. The main ability that a child must develop when learning to walk is the ability to maintain balance. You can help him with this. Place your baby on your lap, spread his arms to the sides and hold them. Alternately raise one or the other knee, so that the child leans first to the right, then to the left. Help your child maintain balance by holding his hands. Raise and lower your knees to the beat of the music. You can put on a record, or turn on a tape recorder, or sing yourself, the main thing is that the music is cheerful.
  3. Place the child in front of you, facing you, and take his hands. Begin to slightly tilt it to the right, then to the left, moving its center of gravity from one leg to the other. Sing a song so that the child sways to the rhythm of the song. Keep your child's arms at shoulder level or even lower. Gradually reduce your support so that your baby continues to rock on his own. Let him then hold only your index fingers with his hands. Make his arms drop down and be positioned almost vertically on his sides. Try swaying to the rhythm of the song yourself. This will stimulate the child - he will try to imitate you.
  4. Place your baby's feet on your legs with his back to you.
    Hold him by the shoulders. Say, “Come on, let's go,” and walk a short distance. Look how he reacts to this game. If he likes it, repeat it on different days. Let other family members, including older children, do this for you. Such a game helps strengthen contact between a child and an adult and is useful from this point of view. If the baby does not express pleasure in the game, put it aside and try again after some time.
  5. Teach your child to “sing” to the music. Turn on the tape recorder, or player, or radio. Sing yourself, using those syllables (“mama” or “dada”) that the child can easily pronounce. Invite him to join you. Repeat this game many times until he begins to sing to the music on his own.
  6. Continue playing “Peek-a-boo, where am I?” with your child. First, cover the child’s eyes with your hands and exclaim: “Where is Misha, where did he go?” Having removed his hands, rejoice: “Misha is here!” Then teach the child to cover his eyes with his hands and wait for your exclamations: “Where has Misha disappeared?” Express delight when he removes his hands from his face. You can also teach him to cover his face with a napkin or diaper, and then pull it off. Your joy when the napkin is pulled off or the hands are removed from the eyes will contribute to the emotional development of the child.
  7. At this age, the child begins to understand how to attract or maintain the attention of an adult - and begins to repeat actions that made others laugh. You can support and develop this behavior in him by participating in a variety of games with him. For example, play with your child “A horned goat is coming for the little guys, gores, gores, gores, gores,” where first you portray this goat, and then he. Be scared when the child reaches out his hand in your direction, and then start laughing.

Eleven months - educational games for baby

We continue our traditional theme “ Games from birth to one year ”.

Now - about our topic

After physical exercise, for an eleven-month-old baby, almost everything that falls into his hands and into his field of vision will be a game. The mother’s task is to arrange the child’s room in such a way as to minimize the number of twitches and prohibitions, ensure safety and, at the same time, satisfy the baby’s creative curiosity and keen interest in the world around him.

This task is not easy, but if it is successfully resolved, the parents receive a calm and balanced son or daughter , capable of thoughtfully exploring the world around them without whims and hysterics. And timely and sufficient attention and play nearby can work real miracles: the baby understands that he receives powerful support from his mother and father, which encourages him to learn new things with pleasure and please his parents with success.

Therefore, we learn for ourselves what we need:

  • allow the child to crawl and walk everywhere;
  • do not limit his knowledge with unnecessary prohibitions (we remove what can be removed);
  • do not let him remain idle, but occupy him with various objects and toys;
  • do not rush him, but take into account the individual characteristics of his nervous system and temperament;
  • encourage him to participate in everyday household chores and even help in the kitchen (carry a cup in water, wash a spoon, put vegetables into a saucepan, etc.);
  • don’t scold him for breaking or destroying - he gains experience from his actions and does not yet understand that breaking is bad. Will understand later. Build a tower again or re-make an airplane, etc.

What educational games can be offered to an 11-month-old baby:

Mom made a mistake!

Take a picture of a character well known to the child. It’s good that the picture is interesting to him. And start asking questions like, “Is this a pussy?” Watch the child’s reaction, don’t rush. If he is silent and looks first at the picture, then at you, answer yourself: “Yes!” - “Where is her tail?” - "Here he is!" “And the pussy barks: woof-woof?...” The baby will be glad that mom made a mistake and will try to correct you
