Is it possible to give Ibuklin to children aged 2 years?

pharmachologic effect

Due to the inclusion of active ingredients such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, the medicine has an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and moderate analgesic effect. It brings down the temperature and helps relieve pain. After taking the drug, the level of prostaglandins in the body decreases. This allows you to normalize body temperature, reduce inflammation and pain. Ibuklin Junior helps suppress the proliferative and exudative stages of the inflammatory process. The combination of active components allows you to achieve a better effect than using them individually.

Operating principle

Ibuklin for children has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects. The presence of two active components in its composition, paracetamol and ibuprofen, allows it to be classified as analgesics, antispasmodics and antipyretics.

The principle of action of this medication is as follows:

  • Ibuprofen is a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. This component is a derivative of phenylpropionic acid, which gives it several important abilities. The substance reduces fever well, relieves pain and reduces inflammation. The component works by inhibiting the activity of one of the enzymes that produces arachidonic acid, the first before prostaglandins. Ibuprofen reduces the synthesis of these substances and prevents prostaglandins from being actively produced by the central and peripheral organs of the nervous system. In addition, this substance helps suppress platelet aggregation;
  • Paracetamol is a non-narcotic substance that has analgesic and antipyretic functions. The action of this component occurs by suppressing COX (all work occurs directly in the thermoregulatory center, which is located in the hypothalamus), which leads to reduced production of prostaglandins.

Ibuklin for children
The action of Ibuklin includes the following stages:

  • inhibition of cyclooxygenase;
  • disruption of arachidonic acid processing processes;
  • suppression of the inflammatory process in its proliferative and exudative phases;
  • decrease in prostaglandin levels.

Ibuklin gives the following therapeutic effect:

  • lowering body temperature to physiological norm;
  • relief of manifestations of arthralgia (during movement, rest);
  • reducing the manifestations of morning joint stiffness;
  • increased activity of movements;
  • anesthesia.

Ibuprofen is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract; in approximately 60-120 minutes its concentration in plasma reaches its maximum values. Plasma protein binding reaches a level of 90%. In the cavity of the joint tissues, the drug is absorbed quite slowly, the synovial fluid shows the presence of a large amount of ibuprofen. The main part of this component is excreted outside the body through the work of the kidneys and gall bladder.

Paracetamol is also absorbed quite quickly, this process occurs in the digestive tract. The substance binds to albumin at a level of 10%. The maximum concentration of this component is observed after two hours. Metabolic processes take place in the liver, and the resulting substances have the ability to penetrate into breast milk.

Absorption and excretion

How long does it take for the medication to begin to be absorbed and act? Paracetamol is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after entering the body. The maximum concentration of the active substance in the blood plasma is reached after approximately 40-120 minutes. When used during pregnancy, the concentration of paracetamol in breast milk does not exceed one percent. Metabolism occurs in the liver. Half-life from the body occurs through the kidneys and is observed after 3 hours.

Absorption and excretion

Ibuprofen is absorbed in the digestive tract. The maximum accumulation of the active component in the blood is observed after 1-2 hours. Half-life occurs after 2 hours. Ibuprofen concentrations are higher in joint synovial fluid than in blood plasma. Excretion occurs through bile and urine.

Pharmacokinetics

After the active components of the drug enter the digestive tract, they are quite quickly absorbed into the systemic bloodstream. Paracetamol penetrates well through various barriers, but almost does not pass into breast milk. When examining it, no more than 1% of the component was found.

The substance does not accumulate in tissues and internal organs; its maximum concentration in the blood is detected 2 hours after taking a single dosage of the medication. The main amount of paracetamol is processed in the liver, where it breaks down into metabolites. Almost all metabolic products are excreted through the kidneys within 6-8 hours after the last use of the drug.

Ibuprofen is absorbed somewhat better in the gastrointestinal tract and almost completely enters the patient’s blood, providing a therapeutic effect. Its metabolites also do not accumulate in the body, which significantly reduces the risk of overdose, but does not eliminate it. 60 minutes after consuming the tablet, the maximum concentration of the active ingredient in the blood is observed.

The component binds well to plasma proteins, and its bioavailability, unlike paracetamol, reaches 90%. Thanks to this indicator, the effectiveness of the medicine is ensured.

It is worth noting that ibuprofen accumulates in greater quantities in the synovial fluid, in the connective and cartilage tissue of the joints. Its concentration in them is slightly higher than in the blood. The ingredient is processed in the liver.

The period of removal of ibuprofen from the body takes up to 8 hours. In this case, most of the metabolites are evacuated by the kidneys, a small amount is excreted in the bile.

Active substance

It is believed that a medical drug such as Ibuklin Junior is an excellent remedy for treating fever and pain in children of different ages.

This is a combined medicine, the effect of which is due to the fact that it contains strong components.

Paracetamol blocks CLH, and therefore acts as a means of relieving pain and fever in a child. Ibuprofen has the same effect, but it is considered a non-steroidal drug, so it also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Ibuklin Junior is a combined medical product.

How long does it take for Ibuklin to work?

Paracetamol, which is part of this common medicine, has a high degree of absorption. Approximately 10 percent of this component binds to plasma proteins. Therefore, maximum dissolution of the drug in the human body occurs after about thirty minutes, but sometimes it can begin to act after an hour or two.

The breakdown of the substance occurs in the liver, so it will be eliminated from the body within approximately 2 or 3 hours. It is excreted only by the kidneys.

If you take such a medication in tablet form, it very quickly penetrates the gastrointestinal tract, where it begins to act intensely. It is known that ibuprofen penetrates first into the joint cavity.

This happens very slowly, since it can also accumulate in the synovial fluid. Usually there is much more of it in such a liquid than, for example, in plasma. It may be excreted either by the kidneys or with bile.

At what age can I take Ibuclin Junior?

Each package of the medicine contains instructions that describe in detail at what age and in what dosage this medicine can and should be used.

Ibuklin Junior should not be given to children under three years old!

Ibuklin can be given from three years of age to 12 years if the child exhibits the following symptoms:

  1. Toothache;
  2. Stretched ligaments;

Ibuklin should not be given to children under 3 years of age.

Instructions for use

The instructions clearly indicate how to take Ibuklin. The tablet must be taken orally, after dissolving it in a small amount of liquid. It is desirable that it be water. Usually use one teaspoon of water, which is equal to 5 ml.

The interval between doses of this medicine should be at least four hours.

If a sick child has any serious health problems, for example, impaired kidney or liver function, then Ibuklin Junior must be taken with a break between doses of more than eight hours.

Such patients should divide their daily dose into several doses, usually 2-3 times. Daily division of drug intake:

  • 3-6 years – 3 tablets per day;
  • Children 6-12 years old are allowed up to 6 tablets.

If you take this medicine without medical supervision at an elevated temperature, this cannot last more than three days. If parents give a child a medicine for pain relief, then its use without medical supervision should not last more than five days. If any rashes suddenly appear on your body, you should immediately contact a specialist.

If such a situation occurs and an overdose of Ibuklin occurs, you should immediately rinse your stomach and consult a doctor.

To avoid an overdose, you must carefully study the section of the instructions “Ibuklin method of use”.

Ibuklin Junior - antibiotic or not

If the components of the medicine are taken separately from each other in small doses, then there will be no effect from taking them.

There are the following rules for taking medication:

  • If the baby weighs from 11 to 15 kilograms, then you can take the medicine three times a day, one tablet. But the intervals between doses should be at least 8 hours.
